No Widget Displayed Example
If you go to the Returns collect, you'll see this snowboard listed there as an Open Box return. You do not need to post a widget to the new product page, as in this case.
Why? A few reasons come to mind.
- Your brand has strict guidelines don't allow for deviation and the director won't budge.
- You carry a particular brand that does not allow discounting, to break MAPP, so you can't do it on an open page. I've seen a company create a hidden page of discounted returns that was only marketed through emails to their loyal customers.
- You only want open box / sale items on one page.
It's not best practice for moving product. Best practice is when someone is shopping for a product, they see an 'open box sale item' available while shopping for the new item. They then can decide if they want that opportunity. Open box is a great opportunity for some, but of no interest for others. For example, you may not send an open box item for a wedding shower gift, but it might be fine for yourself.
